Today, more and more farmers feel they are being left behind in the economy, even though the stock market and the economy as a whole are booming. So many farmers have their own agenda to fight for in a divided America.
That’s why author Paul Brakke has included videos of farmers in his campaign for Fractured America, which discusses how the U.S. became so divided and what we can do to heal those divisions.
As an example of these comments, here’s one that features a farmer standing in a wheat field: “As a farmer, I can tell when things are growing out of control, like the growing attacks in our society. That’s because of the increasing divisiveness in the US, as described in your book, Fractured America. It discusses the many divisions in America and how to heal our fractured society.”
There’s another video featuring a group of farmers with these comments:
“Why are they forgetting about the farmers in Washington? Is it because of all the fighting since America is so divided? You have some great suggestions about overcoming these divisions in your book, Fractured America. It describes our many divides and how to heal our divisive society.”
In short, the campaign features a unique approach with individuals from all walks of life commenting on the way Fractured America suggests new ways to overcome the social, economic, and cultural divisions in America. As author Paul Brakke points out, this divisiveness must be addressed quickly, or protests can escalate, much like the growing protest movements worldwide, including in Hong Kong, Columbia, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, the U.K., and many other countries due to increasing economic and social pressures.
Perhaps the Fractured America campaign with comments from farmers may be an unusual way to address this problem, compared to the comments of pundits and news anchors. But Paul Brakke is using this approach to call attention to a serious problem that might otherwise be overlooked, since the short video has become a key way to share messages on the social media today.
